I'm tired, but I'm also angry, so let's go. On tuesday, October 25 riot police filed into Occupy Oaklands protest site and politely asked them to leave. Wait no, that doesn't sound right. Let me try this again, on tuesday, October 25 riot police filed into Occupy Oaklands protest site and used tear gas, rubber bullets, and flashbangs to force the protesters out of their site. Now I've heard reports that police were reacting to reports of a protester who was carrying an assault rifle or something, but to use that as an excuse to force all the protesters out of their site is outragous. But thats not the part that really angered me, what really shocked me was the police's use of flashbangs on the protesters. You know flashbangs, the device most of us know from the Call of Duty games that are used to blind a room full of enemies before going into the room to kill them and it's not like they used one flashbang, they threw dozens into the crowd. I'll post a video at the bottom that shows just how messed up some of the brutality was. To me it was like the police were trying to force a lion back in its cage with a stick and a laser pointer. Using such force on the very people the police is supposed to protect is just embarrasing and uncalled for. Protesters have been injured as well such as Scott Olsen, an Iraqi war veteran who is now in a comma from being it in the head by a tear gas canister. Now I'm not going to get into whether the protest is right or wrong but it is obivious to see that the response made by the Oakland police was horrible and should be taken more seriousily.
