Question 2 Quarter 2

Mitt Romney is the moderate candidate for the republican party that has keep a steady poll percentage at around 23 percent. Throughout his campaign he has been mostly silent, lettig his competitors rise and fall around him while trying to keep his safe poll numbers. Although I am not crazy about any of the republican candidates, if I had had to choose an of them to be our next president it would have to be Romney because he isn't as insanly radical as everyone else he is running aganis. It is in fact this more moderate standpoint that might get him into the white house. Not only is he drwing in the more moderate republican vote but he is also drawing in more independent voters and more conservative leaning democrats who feel that Obama isn't cutting it. Although this is one of Romney's major advantages this is also one of his biggest set backs because, while being more moderate he has lost much of the hard right republican vote thst has now gone to people like Newt Gingrich who now holds the lead over Romney. The man can barley get the support of his own party. Another one of Romney's set backs is his previously talked about silence. Although so far this has benefitted him because his opponents have tripped over their own words, his silence is now hurting his image and making him seem like a candidate with no stance on anything with no new ideas. His finally set back is that he is Mormon. Never before has a Mormon been president, their have only been Protestants with the exception of Kennedy who was Catholic. His difference in faith has caught him a lot of flak from the republican party and its voters. Overall I think Romney will win the candidacy but lose to Obama in the election.
